# Understanding Bank Accounts and Their Statuses

The Bank Accounts section displays all bank accounts linked to a contact.

# Each account can have one of the following statuses:

* **Active:** The account is ready for transfers, subject to your permissions and available services.
* **Inactive:** The account has been added, but activation has not been completed. It cannot be used for transfers until it is activated.
* **Suspend:** The account was previously active but has been suspended. It cannot be used for transfers until it is reactivated.

# Depending on the account status, available actions may include:

* Activate the account.
* Start a transfer.
* Suspend or reactivate the account.
* View the account details.
* Delete the account if no previous transactions are linked to it.
